Re: Cold air induction

@Daniel: dont be an idiot, the guy's asking a serious question. the lanos i have doesnt have fog lights, instead it has plastic covers which i cut a hole into, attaching a pipe to the back of it and routing it thru to the engine bay where the itnake resonator used to be. Cold air induction

Re: question on daewoo radiator design

Come to think of it, I dont think ive seen many posts at all about over heating problems with daewoos compared to other cars. personaly I think the design of daewoos radiators is one of the best of any car. Ive never had any problems with my car over heating, compared to other models of cars ive pre...

Re: Yet Another Timing Belt Change question

Welcome Ali, Safety first. Never go under any part of a car that sits on a jack. Use jack stands. For side lifting I prefer a floor jack equiped with a piece of wood having a slit in it. This way you avoid torsional effort and lip dammage on chassis. Some cars with glass ceiling must be center lift...

Idle reset puzzle

The thing I find puzzling about doing an idle reset on a 1999 Lanos SE, is after the turning on and off the ignition a couple of times for 5 secs, it then says to turn on your A/C ........ its this part I find puzzling? do you also turn on the fan with the A/C switch?...or do you just turn on the A/...

Re: checking valve clearance

Im not real car savvy, so im not sure how relevant this is but I found these links that name what models of cars are interference engines and out of the Daewoo cars the Lanos 1.5 SOHC isnt on here. http://www.motorwatch.com/automotivebible/auto_motive_bible/TimingBelts.pdf http://www.aamkatalog.ctap...

Re: checking valve clearance

No a 1.5 single overhead cam will NOT damage the valves when the timing belt breaks I agree with nubira88. 1.5 SOHC is a non-interfering motor, hence broken timing belt = no bent valves. That in its self is almost enough to make you want to get a 1.5 SOHC over a 16 valve DOHC 1.6 engine.. Unles the...

Re: checking valve clearance

reuse your water pump its a single over head cam its not going to hurt if it goes if it ever goes. im pretty sure it has no idlers so youve made a saving there. infact you shouldnt even worry about it take the plastic covers off and check to see if the timing belt has all off its teeth by hand turn...

Idler Pulley

I constantly hear how important it is when changing Timing belt in a Daewoo Lanos 1.5 to also change water pump, belt tensioner and idler pulley... in this pic of a 1.5 timing belt setup, I cant see idler pulley? is it not in pic? or does a 1.5 not have idler pulley? http://img178.imageshack.us/img1...
