I think I figured it out...duh!

Thanks for the Info MMamdouh. Idle has never been a problem, I just went out and checked it using the car's tach and I'd say it is right around 850...of course that is not that accurate. Spoke with a friend this morning and he suggested that maybe ALL valve covers were CAST the same way and that MAY...

OK, I got some pics, its my first time posting them I have no idea what size they will be. I put a piece of white paper underneath the nipple to make it stand out. It is just to the right of the pcv valve. What is this for? If it has been open for some time wouldn't this reduce the effectiveness of ...

To plug or not to plug?

I wish I could post a foto but can't at this time...no cam/PC interface. However, IF you were me, under the current circumstances--not knowing whether it should have a hose to somewhere--would you plug it or leave it open until you could find out?

2004 Aveo-valve cover nipple open, missing hose or plug?

Here are the specs: 2004 SVM=no A/C, manual 5-spd 1.6L DOHC 24,100 miles Last night I was cleaning the engine compartment up a bit and I noticed that while standing in front of the car facing it, just to the right of the PCV valve there is an open nipple (about 3/8" dia.) on the valve cover.
