35 Dollars!!? You can get that sucker from Rock Auto online for 13.36 or http://www.gm-car-parts.com for 12.11! I buy most of my Aveo needs online Before I need them. Common spare parts, ya know? Right now I've got a stat, a serpentine belt, wipers, plugs, hoses, and air, oil, and cabin filters. Tha...

Anyone know for sure if the 2002 Lanos and the 2004 Aveo share the same wire set?

again i see this as a manual problem not an engine problem as no one here ever break his timing belt before the spacified interval and the 25k miles interval we have sounds about right... the 60k miles is indeed very much over rated. MMamdouh Wow. Wish I had had this conversation with you a year ag...

i don't see a "problem"... timing belt should be replaced at a certain point of time and some people miss that, and because our engines are interference engines they damage the valves when the timing belt snaps. its an owner's fault rather than an inherent problem in the car. MMamdouh The reports I...

i have used Gates and DAYCO timing belts before... never noticed any difference between both belts but every body says Gates is the best and also the OEM belt was in fact Gates so i am sticking with it. MMamdouh If this is true then why does the Daewoo/Aveo have such a reputation for timing belt pr...

Dayco makes a TB for the Aveo (#95310), which is of much better quality I've heard.
The question is.......will local Chevy dealers be willing to install it when the time comes?

My Aveo has 50,000 on it and I'm planning to have the TB changed out at 52,000.
Any thoughts....guesses?

I have Silverstars on my 2004 Aveo. They are H4's - which are 9003's, not 9007's. The 9007's have an entirely different (plastic) connector base type. The Aveo requires the round, flat-metal base with 3 extended tabs found on the 9003 (H4). Go and check the pictures.... H4 (9003) = http://www.brands...

Yep! Looks the same as what I have......and at an even better price!

The free updates is true. IF you have a fast connection. All I have in this area is Dial-Up, unfortunately, so just buy em for a nominal charge.

Congrats on your good fortune. :D
