Re: a reason for the two piece damper.
Your engine is not designed for a one piece solid damper/pulley/balancer.. if it's solid, welded or or out of balance your crankshaft will suffer. You need to replace your original damper with the original type (two piece, bonded together) this design 'cushions' the harmonic vibrations on the crank...

I've never really broke in a throttle body on a motor. But as i was taking apart the intake to be able to get to a few things i found a bottle of oil attached to the air intake tube. The little black bottle attached to the bottom of the air intake, what is that for? Anyways, it was about all the way...

Well i had to take some kind of measure today to see if i could find my oil pressure problem. Sooo i actually cut some little pieces metal and welded those to bridge the inner and outter piece of the pullies. Worked. Little bit off camber, kind of wobbles a little bit, but it was perfect to be able ...

I tried searching and didn't see anything about it. I just bought the a 2001 Nubira last night and towed it home on my trailer. Back it off the trailer and the the outer ring of the crank pulley was literally laying on my trailer?? Kind of funny actually. Anyways, is this a common problem for a pull...
