sometimes I forget what access is like on the front of the block... I apologise if I have given you bad info regarding being able to see the CPS I have nothing at all there, no A/c or power steering so it's very easy to access the CPS!! I swear I can see it on my wife's astra though, maybe they have...

the idle valve can cause stalling
if it's sticking it will do exactly what you describe.
if you can, whip it out, give it a clean with some degreaser and put it back. 30min - 1hr job max

Ok now I see. Rather interesting as well, since I just switched my course load to electro-mechanical engineering from pure electrical... This noise is far too loud to be something emitted from an electrical pulse. Not electrical pulse... they are a solenoid valve so it's electro-magnetic. the ticki...
