Maybe the seat belt sensor has been tampered by someone who doesn't know what they were doing and we're trying to stop the chime.

If that's the case, as Daniel said, remove the chime module connector

just put your seatbelt on before you put the key in the ignition...

Except having it on the strut tower only makes sense for north/south engine
