After a long fault-finding eventually I sorted this problem. The solution was - which remained my last logical idea - put the sensor closer to the turning camshaft. I changed the sensor earlier but it didn't resolve the problem. I think in both sensors the permanent magnet was weak, because it was w...

Another thing: occasionally when engine starts the cooling fan switches on with cold engine. After a while it goes off. I read somewhere if an error occurs the ecu switches on the fan. I took out the sensor and moved a piece of metal at the end, it was switching like dream. (checked on scope). Maybe...

i recon it will work just like any cam sensor... isn't their a metal chunk or magnetic chunk on one part of the cam gear to create the magnetic pulse? MMamdouh I've checked it there is a metal chunk on the camshaft. I took out the sensor and connected a DVM, moving a piece of metal at the end of th...

the sensor is magnetic and reads off the cam gear. there is a thicker section on the back of the gear that the magnetreads off of when it spins around. Garrett Thanks Garrett but the thing is my one is an SOHC engine and the sensor looks like this: http://www.postimage.org/aVvKm1S.jpg When I took o...

cam sensor trigger
Could anybody tell me what triggers the camshaft position sensor on a Lanos?
Is there anything at the end of the camshaft which triggers the sensor, or it's only a gap?
It's a 1.4 engine.
Thanks

I've checked the voltage on my oxygen sensor and it was pretty high 0.8V at a warm engine.
The only code I still have is P0342. Can this cause so bad fuel/air ratio to give such a value?
Maybe because of the pcm get a low signal from the camshaft sensor this cause a problem with the timing/injection.

ECU/PCM drawings for Lanos
Does anyone have electrical drawings for a Lanos II (2001) or only for the PCM?
Especially interested in the camshaft position sensor's wiring.
thanks

Re: sensor no.: 10456507
Sensor has been changed, nothing happened. The CEL is still on.
Anybody has an electrical drawing for a Lanos (OBD II)? Any idea?
Thanks,
kopisti
