Honestly, I don't think it would be that hard using the current VIN. Well, maybe if you live in California, but I am now trapped in Tennesee and I have seen many licensed "street legal" drag cars even in my podunk town. Yes, it is much much easier to get a car registered im the US. There are RHD Japanese Civics and other cars from Japan registered as their US counterpart.
