Re: Problem with shifting the gears

just to be 100% sure it is not a hydraulic issue.. remove the rubber cover on the slave clutch piston... if oil dripped then the piston is bad and needs changing other than that i suspect the pressure plate MMamdouh MMamdouh, you were right, both pistons were bad. As the transmission were already r...

Re: Problem with shifting the gears

Thank's a lot for replies,

Indeed, it seems that the clutch is ready for exchange. Yesterday, I bought the parts and tomorrow should go to the service.

Problem with shifting the gears

Hi, Lanos 1.5, year 2001, manual transm., 90Kkm, during the driving through town shifting the gears suddenly become harder and harder and after about dozen changing the gears, it was impossible to move into any speed incl. reverse. Well, it is impossible to change the gear at all, and terrible noise...

Engine on my Lanos is with simple EGR triggered by vacuum hose. The other more sophisticiated EGR's are electronicly triggered maybe with some RPM sensor.

Well, I have the answer on this question from one of my domestic forum. Yes, it is possible and easy to replace the stock 1 wire O2 sensor with heated oxygen sensor type. Two wires from sensor for heated purposes are permanently connected on voltage during the engine work. So, next time when I shoul...

MM, ur rims are 14" nubira rims, i dunno whats ur dads car rims are... IMO it does not matter, as the ratio engine/gear/axle are the same. Are the rev-meters the same on both cars? Even if they are, you still have two instruments on each car, tacho and speedo meter and every of them has own plus or...

Oxygen sensor - exchange with another type?

Lanos 1.5 2001, stock oxygen sensor with one wire. As far as I know, O2 sensor with heating element (four wires) are better as they sooner reach desireable working temperature of about 600 degrees Celsius. As I drive mainly in busy town, short distances between 3 and 6km (2 to 4 miles), O2 sensor us...

Recently, I had a similar hissing sound from the engine compartment of my Lanos 1,5 and I as well as several friends and even mechanics couldnt locate where the sound comes from. Than, I took a stetoscope, like medical doctors have, and with ease locate the source of hissing sound. The culprit was w...

The same happened to me on my Lanos 1,5, twice in last three years. Both times, the car mechanics said that the cause was loss of electric power (obd code) and they just perform the reset to fix the light off. Firstly I tried to reset by disconnecting the battery but without any success.

EGR gasket

Lanos 1,5 SOHC. A few days ago I replaced EGR valve (on 66K km). There was not available spare gasket for EGR, but shop assistant said that this is not a problem. He had the same situation and the car mechanic made a new gasket out of thick paper. Well, I made the same, but stil wondering whether th...

I think the only way is to drill 4 new holes, about 2 inch back on the floor and mount the whole seat assembly there.

In the end..... it doesn't matter if your in 4th or 5th..... the car doesn't have enough horsepower to push it any faster without some help. ..... Actually, in my case, it does matter as I do not have rev meter installed. So I am, wondering whether at sped over 170 km/h in 4th gear, maybe my engine...
