I thought all the engines were not "interference" engines. Car has 89,000 miles. DOHC 1.6 engine with an automatic transmission. What is the estimated cast of a valve job? How about a cylinder head? I've got experience (I did change the timing belt) working on cars. Could the timing "still" be off?

Bought a 01' Lanos cheap ($300) with a broken timing belt. I replaced the belt (thanks to the forum) after aligning the camshaft marks and the crank mark (rear timing belt cover mark was not a "dead" bottom; slightly left) Changed plugs (good spark) and and tried starter fluid (fuel; electric fuel p...
