Re: Daewoo/Opel drift car?
... I suppose one option would be to cut the entire shell of the lanos and weld it to an existing rwd lower chassis, then it would look like a Daewoo, yet it would have all the required parts to make it RWD right off the start. That's exactly what I'd do - seen it done on a Suzuki Swift using a comb...

Re: Daewoo/Opel drift car?
How about taking the Lanos, rotate the engine on custom mounts, fabricate a larger transmission tunnel and drop in the rear-drive drivetrain from the Catera. Then figure out how to make it all work once you get that far. I've had this idea in my head for a good 5 years now... if I ever get my own wo...

Re: The longest Thread ever!!!
Ignore my previous comments about trading in car parts - it's been a bit of a rough couple of weeks recently, some family issues etc. Looks like I'll be getting rid of the Lanos by April (not by choice) and will essentially be homeless. Unless you can call living in a caravan not being homeless, whi...

Re: The longest Thread ever!!!
Figured it out, the British Pound sign seems to be crashing the post feature... weird. Instead of asking for money, I'd even settle for you buying parts for me, i.e.: rather than saying, here's GBP100 for collecting parts and sending the order over, chuck in a turbo manifold or something instead tha...

Re: The longest Thread ever!!!
I'd feel bad about asking for an extra GBP10 - GBP20, let alone 200, for my "troubles".

I cant post replies... except this one
What the heck is going on here? I'm trying to post my actual reply, but it keeps giving me error 500, then I post a senseless reply and it works?

Re: Another Lanos!
Still no pictures because I keep forgetting to take some... But, just ordered a set of Brembo discs and pads for the front. Replaced the back box with a straight cut smaller box off a Ford Fiesta.
Will post some pictures and videos at some point.

Re: Another Lanos!
Quick update... Didn't go for the dished wheels in the end, but did manage to get some 15" Vauxhall Cesaro 6 spoke alloys in black... for free! :-) Also put in a pair of JVC 10" subwoofers... but the box is too big, so the bass is really "droney" (it was originally a box for two 12" woofers, but som...

Re: The longest Thread ever!!!
Vaux parts from the UK, cheap? where? :D I'd have to say ask the same really... older Astra/Lanos era car parts are becoming hard to find, because people "recycling" these cars for newer ones because the running costs outweigh the low buying prices of older cars in some cases. eBay has dried up for...

Re: Lanos (hatchback) - Sagging suspension/twisting chassis
Furthermore, as I'm spotting random Lanoses (Lanoo's?) around car parks (parking lots for those from elsewhere) I'm noticing the same on others. Some not as bad, but yesterday I saw one that was very noticeable, again on completely flat ground - ok, the driver was sitting in the car, but there was a...

Lanos (hatchback) - Sagging suspension/twisting chassis
(for right-hand drive cars) the right-rear corner seems to sag and sit noticeably lower then the left side or any of the front corners as seen by a difference in arch gap. I first noticed it on my first Lanos, but only after having the lowered springs put in. At first I figured it's the rear springs...

Re: Turbo Optra - Now on tuned Haltech @ 225whp
What would be interesting is an electric motor used during launch that powers through gear changes of the gearbox up front - i.e.: launch 1st gear and electric motor kicks in, but when it comes to changing to second and you let off the throttle, the electric motor keeps pushing so that you don't los...

Re: The longest Thread ever!!!
There are a few other forums that seem to have a ripe following, i.e.: daewooclub.co.uk and lanosclub.com Speaking of UK, would you have any interest in sending Vauxhall parts over here? I use to bring them in through another fellow on Migweb, but he has become greedy and wants too much money for s...

Re: I would really like to know...
The Lanos and Astra MK2 share the identical suspension, so it's pretty easy to find lowering springs and other suspension parts. ... Everyone says that, but have you actually compared a complete Lanos strut with a complete Astra E strut? (or even just the springs) I have and they're not identical. ...
