1.6 aveo engine compared to the 1.6 xe

now i was looking at this article: http://www.sbdev.co.uk/History_files/History_CrackingPair.htm and i saw that the 1.6xe was making 191bhp at 8000rpm 133lb.ft at 7000rpm ....which is very respectible from a 1.6L...now how different is the head on that engine compared to the aveo's? i know the 1.6xe...

it is a forced induction method so you will need an intercooler (as you can see in the second pic the car got an intercooler) and fuel managment is a must. power gains depends on how much boost you are running. about the lag my woo is very short so I dont think it would be a problem also if you look at the mustangs installation pics they ran the pipes through some of the body the lag doesnt matter in those cars on the site because they already have powerful v8s to carry them off the line till the turbos k...

yea i was looking for some 16x7's but its all good ill just wait til i find another bargin and stick with my 17x7's since i get better gas mileage with those than my stock ones lol

Mitsu:

IHI:

Precision:

Garrett:

I am leaning towards one of the mitsu turbos....

yea i kno some ones that are cheaper dont have the 16x7....like the kosei ones are dirt cheap but come in 16x7.5 and i want 16x7..... kinkyllama: yea i saw them on that site.....ive spent the past month searching for the cheapest ones....id like to get a package deal but every package ive seen comes...

alright thanks for all the helpful info...I will probably just use the plastic one for now since i will probably be running 7psi plus I am trying to build on a limited budget but this is good information to know for later incase if I ever want to do anything serious with the 1.6L
