Hey, yeah I had thought of that myself and tried it before I replaced the sensor. Didn't make a difference unfortunately.

I had the A/C wet floor problem as well as another problem with water running in through the passenger door of the car if it was parked with the front facing up an incline. The computer is higher and didn't get wet, as are the wiring bundles, so it SHOULDN'T have done anything except make my passeng...

Well found about a dozen Nubrias and 4 or 5 Leganzas, but no Lanoses. I did cut into wiring of a Nubria's and Leganza's cam sensor, and they aren't shielded wires so at least I got that good news. I'll try splicing the small section that I think could be the bad wiring. If that doesn't work, I'm jus...

Well I think I figured out the wiring for it. I'm going to try and find a wiring harness in a junkyard today. Looks like there is a small one that connects the injectors and camshaft sensor to the same plug. Anybody know if the connectors to the injectors just pop out easily? I'm always afraid of br...

There are 3 wires, one being a ground, are the 2 others both shielded? How can I tell if they are shielded ahead of time if they are shielded? I need to get this fixed by next Friday because if the light comes on during my state inspection I'll fail. I really don't wanna pay some guy $90/hr to poke ...

Oh, forgot to say about the wet floor. There is some foam padding under the carper on the passenger side that sops up water and takes a LONG time to dry out. The carpet itself doesn't look wet though. If you take your seat out to look at the computer, I'd check under there to see if it's wet still a...

The unit under the passenger seat IS the computer. I wouldn't think the heater would blow on it that much but you never know. Could be some other wiring connection expanding in the heat under the carpet someplace. If you ever figure it out please let me know. I'm having my own PO342 code issue. I've...

Thanks. Rerunning the whole thing isn't really an option because I can't even find a wiring diagram for a Lanos that includes the camshaft position sensor. It seems like over kill anyway. I've read that with O2 sensors that you can't really cut and splice new wire in because it messes up the signal....

There are far more knowledgeable people here than me, but I'll chime in anyway. As far as the tranny goes, I'm pretty sure my lanos has a tranny cooler (automatic) so maybe you're low on coolant or have some other radiator issue that turning the heater on gets rid of the extra heat. Without that, th...

Sensor wire splicing

Ok, I don't know that much about electronics, but I can do basic stuff like install a new head unit and things. I replaced my camshaft position sensor twice and still am getting intermittent po342 codes. I think I may see a section of wires that look kinked from the plastic cover between the sensor ...

Am I just missing it, or do none of the manuals or wiring diagrams have information on the camshaft position sensor?

Hi Kopisti. I'm having a similar issue. Can you describe a little better what you did to fix the problem? Have pictures by any chance, or maybe a drawing? Thanks a lot

Ok, so I never did get this resolved. Next month is inspection time though and I won't pass if the CEL decided to light up during it. I've inspected the wires and sensor connector and side PCM side can't see anything wrong. When it's really cold out it does seem to throw the PO342 code less often. I...

Haha, well I had never actually seen one anywhere before, but I've thought to myself lots of times that it would help so I googled it today to see if what I had in my head existed. And that's the thing, technically any bolt or nut can be reached by removing other parts, but that can be really time c...
