Re: Sirius radio problem

Installed it myself. It's a very basic install, just the antennae cable and the signal/power cable (one cable to power and communicate with the head unit, no fuses) and like I said, had disconnected and reconnected them several times trying to fix it. I fixed it now though after I found a buried pos...

Sirius radio problem

I doubt many people will have experience with this, but I'm having an issue with my Sirius satellite unit. I have a Kenwood head unit that has a SIR-KEN1 Sirius Connect box connected to it. Both are fairly new from x-mas time. A few days ago I was listening to a Sirius station when the audio stopped...

Re: Strange Rain Leak in Lanos

Yeah get a pic and show how you fixed it. It would be helpful to others even if it isn't the problem I'm having. I parked the car facing up the incline in the rain yesterday because I got curious about the leak again. Didn't tape the holes though. I thought the water was dripping through the door, b...

Re: heat shield important?

Yeah I just took it off since it wasn't giving me much of a choice anyway. I have AC but it's all perfectly fine without the heat shield. Anybody thinking of doing it because of a rattle or that it's ugly, looks like it's perfectly fine.

Some power steering noise normal?

Since I've had my lanos the power steering makes kind of a muted squeaky whine when you turn the steering wheel. I never thought much of it until a friend commented on it, then I noticed no other cars I'm in lately seem to do it. Everything on the car is louder than an average car though since it do...

Re: Strange Rain Leak in Lanos

I have a similar problem, but on my passenger side. I can see where it's dripping onto the floor (under the door molding on the floor) but can't find where it's entering the car. Oddly it only seems to happen when I park the car on an incline with the car facing up the incline, even if it's a small ...

heat shield important?

How important is this heat shield? Can I just toss it? My bolts all snapped and it's just sitting there loose. It rattles a lot and I'm also afraid it will cut the sensor wires there, but also don't want anything to melt if I take it off.

Re: Lanos suspension question

I was looking at the GR-2s but bought some Gabriel struts instead because they have a 20% rebate special going on right now. I also got an awesome deal for a pair for $45 shipped when most places wanted that for one so that helped. I'm going to pick up Gabriel rears today unless somebody says that t...

Lanos suspension question

2000 Lanos 1.6L 4-door. I'm going to have my mechanic replace the front + rear struts/shocks next month but I'm buying the parts myself. I'm not looking to turn the car into a racer or anything, just the old ones are pretty much shot. I don't know much about what the job involves, but is there anyth...

Search function on the site

Is the search function on the site pretty much useless for anybody else or am I having some kind of browser issue. Almost everything I try to search for, it tells me the term is too common. I trying to find threads on shocks and struts and the words shocks, struts, absorber, suspension, springs, etc...

Re: Never Ending Cam Sensor Issue

We can hope, but I don't know if most parts that are Daewoo specific would be financially worth it to most after market places. I had the impression GM only does it because it was part of the agreement when they bought Daewoo that they had to for so many years. I might be remembering that wrong thou...

Re: Never Ending Cam Sensor Issue

Oh, and the problem is if they close or technically go out of business, I don't think they'd have a legal obligation to make woo replacement parts anymore no matter what name they have after.

Re: Never Ending Cam Sensor Issue

Believe me, I don't deal with dealers either. The only reason for any of this mess is because the failing cam sensor was supposed to be covered for free under recall. Haha, that's the real killer part here is if it wasn't for the recall I would have bought a used sensor off Ebay for $20 and been don...
