It was the scraper. I thought it was a thick gasket or something.

It was glued to the pan by the gasket, and held in by the feed tube

I'm a little more used to working on my 1954 studebaker pickup. :)

what does the scraper do?

It's seperated from the gasket, drops about a 1/4" and then hangs on something

Hey, I'm having this issue, and can't get the pan to drop, it's like it's hanging up on something.

Any hints?
