now I know what happened, I did not install the camshaft oil seals.
thats what get when you dont check that everything is in its place when you get a remanufactured head

can the oil be due to overfilling of oil, I put a full 4 quarts of oil into the oil filler 3 hrs before I started it. I dont see any leaks at the head gasket the only 2 places seem to be the valve cover gasket or the oil pump but ther is no reason for the oil pump to leak. Do I need to change the be...

Finally after almost 4 months of weekend work I got the cylinder head back o the car, a 2000 lanos 1.6. once the timing belt was on I wanted to see if it worked so I started the car without the timing cover. The belt was placed as shown in the timing belt replacement post, tightened to the first mark. crank turned twice and then set to the second mark. I am quite certain that the valves are bent there is resistance when turning the crankbeyond what i would expect. the big block is just a pipe dream but ...
