tierod ends

Is it true that tierod ends in Lanos are the same as in Pontiac Lemans (89-92)?

It came out of the fluid level plug.
I put a bottle of Lucas additive that helps with slippingand it doesn't slip
much anymore, but this is just a temporary fix. :smt093

It took 4 QT. before fluid started coming out of the hole on the
front of the tranny housing ( I got that info from the dealer ).
I used Mobil 1 synthetic Mercon V fluid.

Well, the good news is, I fixed the pan and it's not leaking. The bad news is, I think I need a new transmission. It drives, but it's hardly pulling in first gear and it's getting worse ( I think it's called slipping ). Looks to me like somebody is going to be looking for a used tranny. :( :x...

transmission pan fix

Driving on the highway at about 75 MPH I hit a piece of metal lying on
the road. I made it home fine but when I went to the car later, most
tranny fluid was on the ground, and I found a small hole in the pan.
Can this be welded (steel?-aluminum?) :?:

synthetic oil

A few days ago I decided to switch to synthetic oil in my motor.
I used Royal Purple 5W30.
I don't know, call me crazy, but the car seems a bit faster now or
maybe it's just me.
Has anybody switched to synthetic and noticed a difference?

75,000 miles. New water pump it is, then, and let me tell you,
I'am getting a bit tired of working on this car.
It's easier working on my V8 Chevy, than on this litle monster

I finished fixing my car today. I ended up replacing 2 exhaust valves. The good news is the engine seems to be running fine, the bad and the ugly news is that now the water pump is leaking. After adjusting the timing belt I tightened those little water pump bolts well, so either something happened t...

I got the head off. There was a small bolt holding the top of that
black cover to the head. I still had to use a bar to pry the head off.
One exhaust valve is bent for sure. All the rest look OK to me,
they seem to close properly. Any hints on replacing that valve?

I am trying to find out if I have any bent valves after my
timing belt broke at 75,000 miles. I can't get to the site
you listed.

There is that black metal cover attached to the side of the motor,
that seem to be everywhere. And if the stering pump is
bolted to the head, then I will have to remove that cover or
maybe the pump. I removed al you listed there.
Thanks for reply.

lanos head removal

I am looking for a guide on how to remove the head
in my 2001 Lanos. I am having problems on the left
side of the motor (power steering pump and the rest
of that funky bunch). :?: Thanks
