yeah i know that 1 discount tire stripped the threds ouit of my wheel hub and i have to press a new 1 in(withe new bearing), but the dealer accidentally gave me an extra wheel bearing so that will save me $50 later down the road! If you have a press, it's easiest to pull the strut out of the car an...

Bump. Anyone have comments and is a header available anywhere for the N/A 2 liter (L4)?

No problem. And as a rule (if you can afford to wait), anytime you buy a new battery, put it on a charger overnight before installing it. Yes, they are fully charged from the factory but can lose a lot of charge depending on the storage conditions and time elapsed before you buy it. Installing a bat...

Won't hurt a thing. You could wire 20 batteries with a CCA of 850 each in parallel and this just means that you would have 17,000 amps available . The amperage rating of a battery indicates what is available but your car will only use (or draw) what it requires to start and run. There WOULD be troub...

Tom, Your car is exponentially impressive! Ours is the same color (silver) but just a Lemans GSE and I can only imagine how fun it would be to duplicate what you have done. I did take the heat gun to the gaudy "LeMans GSE" decals on the doors and it already looks better but nothing like yours. I alm...

2.0 Liter Performance

What else is available for the '89 2.0 in our Lemans? I'd love to turbo it but CA would probably not allow it. Just rebuilt; completely stock but punched .020 over. During the build I found no cams, headers, nothing available for this motor. Has quite respectable power as is, but if anyone knows of ...

AC Hose Assembly?

Need the hose assembly that is siamesed on the compressor and connects same to accumulator and condensor for a 1989 LeMans GSE 2.0 liter. Cannot find anywhere but the dealer so far and they want $250. Or does anyone know of a place that will custom make this for less? Real bummer. Got this car from ...

Thanks Tom. I'll start another topic on what I need. Love your site. And this really is a cool little car. Looks a little goofy from the front, but sharp loking from the rear. Has plenty of power with this fresh 2 liter and the expense of the KYB shocks and struts was worth it. Handles every bit as ...

Thanks for your help! I let it run up to 96C and the fan kicks right in. I believe either the gauge or gauge sender is out of whack because it is nearly in the red when the coolant is actually still relatively cool. I'm sure you relate to my nervousness with a new motor and a discomforting temp gaug...

Yes. It is a rectangular box about 1.5X1.5X 2.5 under the dash just above where your left leg is while driving. Simply unplugs from a multi-blade connector.

It's the FIRST thing I removed when working on our LeMans; WAY to loud and an obnoxious tone.

Following up: Looked closer at the "Cooling" pdf for the european cars and found the fan cycling temps. However, the pdf states that the thermostatic switch that controls the fan cycle is located in the side of the radiator and this is NOT the case with this LeMans. It would appear that the computer...

'89 LeMans Radiator Fan - Help

Awesome to find a site that includes info on the weird little LeMans! We were given an 89 Lemans GSE 2.0 liter for free with a blown head gasket. Will be my son's first car. I agreed because it is sporty looking and with the 2.0 liter, should be quite snappy. I have rebuilt the motor (and this was n...
