im usually not a chrome guy either, you see it every where, every one has it. but i dont know, i like the chevy lanos chrome grill. you do know you can cut your stock grill and mod it to be a one opening grill. you would have to paint it then but since you dont want the crome that sholdnt be an issue.

lol. i knowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. and i actually um.. sanded the plastic chrome.. so i sprayed it wanna be chrome. hahahaha.
but my mesh wasnt working out in one piece, so i left it 3 pieces.

We also have the Chevy Aveo here in Egypt. In fact we have 2 Aveos: the locally assembled Aveo and the imported one. Not much of a difference though. Still Chevrolet needs to steal the Lanos away from Daewoo !!! Making profit out of somebody else's sweat !

Sorry to say this but Daewoo cars have been GM products from day one.

GM didn't steal anything, the Lanos is based on a GM platform made with tooling dies from GM.

GM started a joint venture with the Koreans back in 1972

It wasn't until 1982 that the "Daewoo Group" took a controlling share and even then all vehicles were based on GM design

In 1992 GM finally pulled out of Daewoo all together, then in 1999 Daewoo went bankrupt and GM took over again.

Any way you cut it, the Lanos is a slightly updated version of the second generation Astra/Kadett.

Daewoo only existed as it's own company for 7 years while GM owned this company for 31 years out of the last 38


My personal interest has always been with Opel/Vauxhall vehicles, the reason I got into modifying Daewoo's was due to the fact that it was a very unique vehicle that has a huge amount of international performance parts support ( UK/Europe/South America )

When I first found out I could drop in a German made C20LET ( 2.0L turbo running a 10,000 RPM with nearly 750hp ) I was completely shocked and happy at the same time.

Who knew the cheap economical korean made Daewoo Lanos could be made into a sub 10 second car with the application of some hard earned cash.
