went for a mini 100km cruise today

it felt really good to be driving again :D
especially seeing as though i just got new tyres (bridgestone potenza re001 adrenalin 185/60r14 -lanos stock 14" tyre size on 14" bmw bottle cap wheels)

now just need new suspension to take out the body roll and the gear linkage fixed/tightened up and she'll be SWEET!

How much will the stock 1.6 rods handle then? 250 was the approximation for my first build. would they do 300 or 350? if so then I'd just need those arp pieces from you. I was looking at how much power the little 5 speed can handle as well...I've heard 200 will destroy it? If so what is a good upgrade? I don't want to replace the whole tranny right now so I may just lower my expectations to something the tranny can reasonably handle until I can save up a little money. If you remember I've got the 8.5 comp forged pistons you were selling from Wiseco as well. I thought there was a discussion that came to the conclusion all lanos didn't get the forged rods for some reason...anyway. What would be involved in the upgraded flywheel install? And what benefit does the 2.0 pressure plate and disc produce? How thick is the cometic head gasket...would it lower my compression more?

So, in summary...pieces I def will be needing...

Better Clutch (preferably carbon/kevlar)
Arp rod bolts, studs
Cometic gasket
way to increase fuel...rfpr, bigger injectors/pump? check valves for the map sensor...or a piggyback computer.
I'll have a time frame soon

other parts are most likely gonna wait til later.

well... i was trying to upgrade the brake booster on my ride during January by using a leganza booster... the project failed due to the fact that the leganza booster is not matching the lanos master cylinder and i was leaking vacuum as hell and i have ruined my OEM booster in the process...

after that the revolution came and all car related projects were postponed...

now i am trying to fabricate a lower control arm bar to enhance the chassis rigidity which i suppose will be an easy task and also i am still looking for some 3/20 proportional valves as i am experiencing rear lockup under hard braking and i have experienced some hairy moments

i have also asked a friend to get me a sports steering wheel hub as i can't find any in here as i am planning on getting myself a nice sporty momo steering wheel

problem is i am too busy with work and family to do stuff for the car as i used to in the old days...

spent the weekend fixing up my timing cover (the belt was rubbing on it)
re-painted the cover too, black looks so much better than white

painted the exhaust heat shield red as well, still unsure about that one... it might grow on me

I will take quality over quantity any day ;)

I just wish I had more time to devote to the site, since the death of the "Daewoo" name the site has really slowed down and I rarely see Daewoo's on the road these days.

I only get 20-30 hours a year in on car work, it's really hard to devote time to posting when I have so many partially finished projects on the go.

My business and home life is very demanding, even now, I am sitting at work.

I have about 20 hours of work to do by noon tomorrow and I simply do not feel like working... which is why I'm sitting here posting the longest thread.

It doesn't help that I'm an old fart now ( 37yrs old ), when I started into the Daewoo scene I was in my mid 20's.

At that time the idea of making a high power Daewoo was nearly unheard of and there were very few people that knew of the OPEL-DAEWOO connection.

You've definitely been here a long time and contributed greatly to the success of the forum, it's too bad we don't have more people like you.
