Has everyone given up on their Woo?

I feel like I am one of the few people still checking out the site on a daily basis and making posts.

Anyone?
Activity on the forum has died down over the years, I'm usually working 80-100hrs a week so I rarely have time to work on my cars.

My Opel Calibra is parked, waiting for repairs
My Red Lanos still has a partially seized 1.5L ( bad oil pump ) so it's parked
My Silver Passport Optima finally has a C20GET in it, but I haven't had time to drop in the exhaust system so it's parked
My White Pontiac Lemans is stripped, don't have the time to get the roll bar system welded
My Red Passport Optima is ready for the scrap yard after I pull out a few parts

In other words, I have absolutely no time for cars despite the fact that it's my only hobby.
I have three engines just waiting to go into cars, probably have $35,000 in Cars and parts wasting away at my shop

GSiTurbo still has his lanos but is firmly focused on sailing and his fiancee.

I think a large number of Daewoo's in North America ended up in the scrap yards due to broken timing belts and most of the Chevy/Suzuki guys don't even know it's a Daewoo.

I still read like once or twice a week, but cant read everything due to not having enough time.

My Lemans/Racer/Kadett/Astra is in pieces, the engine is torn appart, the car is sitting on jackstands and it used to be red now is pink (burned paint).

Im trying to work on it once some money comes again for it, I truly miss the small rocket.

Im will register a more GM/Chevrolet domain next week.

If you guys have any suggestions let me know.

I just checked and this is available: GMDATech.com (GM Daewoo Automotive Tech)

It can include sections for all the new(er) GM-Daewoo cars

Spark (Matiz), Aveo, Sonic (Kalos), Cruze (Lacetti Premier), Malibu, Captiva, Caprice and I know a few others.
I may be wrong, but all the GM cars with the EcoTec engines, I believe are at least partially Daewoo engineered.

But cant really decide on what to do to the forum categories.

Chris might make a comment about this.

Movement to an alternate domain name would solve certain problems and help to add new users.

Personally I think that all the broken image links have damage a large portion of the technical information, changing to different image upload systems has definitely hurt the site.

The current category layout since it is currently small enough that you can scroll through all the new posts fairly quickly and get a good sense of everything posted on the entire forum.

If there are different forums for different cars it's likely that people will be segregated into different areas and only check on one particular car type.

I do however think it should be possible to get Lacetti owners to chat with Nubira owners due to the common engines, I'm sure many of them would be happy to know that they can use the significantly cheaper engine parts of the Nubira.

I'm still alive and kicking too.... I check on here about once a week or so..

My Optra is still going too with only regular maintenance for the time being... Although its use is split between my Lexus IS300 and company car now (Nissan Rogue).

I have noticed too that activity here has slowly declined, less people doing interesting projects/builds these days. I understand that money and time is a concern for everyone, but I think that's part of the reason at least - less projects leads to less outside interest = less motivation from everyone else. A gradual downward spiral as people move onto new projects with other cars or loose interest altogether, and there aren't new members to replace them.

Has anybody considered maybe changing the name to reflect the derivatives of the Daewoo brand that are still alive?

Next month we will be registering GMDATech.com to try to get a bit more traffic,

Will also try to add a new photo gallery, unfortunatly I cannot bring back all the photos that were lost on the last move.

Both domains will be live so I think we can get some new members.

Efrain.
