How much do you pay for gas ?

Post by Spider »

Just wondering what people are paying for gas in other places.

In Bakersfield California, USA
for one U.S. gallon of 87 octane (regular) gas
local prices for today April 26, 2007
are:
$3.43 (highest price)... usd
$3.17 (lowest price).... usd

I think we have the highest prices in the states right now.

Within 7 miles of my house it's 3.02-3.23 for regular 87 octane as of yesterday. I live inbetween two citys so that's why gas prices are so different.

Our price here is $1.13 CDN per liter.... so that's about $1.00 USD

I think there is about 3.8 L in a US gallon..... so.... I guess were paying about $3.80 USD a gallon.

Stupid thing is that 45% of that cost is Canadian government taxes.

Edmonton (where I live ) is at the center of oil production for Canada (which has giant oilsand reserves) so you would think that gasoline should be cheap..... but it's not.

I live about 3 miles from a patch of oil refineries where gasoline (among other things) is made...... if any of those plants went "boom" I'm a dead man.
