Looking for new front struts

Post by Adam454ss »

Hello daewoofiends
I am looking for relatively inexpensive front struts for my 2000 Nubira. Does anyone recommend a site/supplier for these items?
When in doubt, FLOOR it!!!

So far I have found Partstrain.com for fairly inexpensive struts. They have (order of price, cheapest to expensive) KYB, Monroe and ... shoot forget the third one. I have replaced mine before and found out that if stabilizer links' bolts/nuts are not well grease they rust very badly. So you may need a new pair of those too. Be prepared to use cut off wheel/grinder to remove them from lower control arm and old strut.

I've looked at ebay and googled stuff.
But it seems there are different part numbers
for the fronts and rears.. and it gets more confusing.

Don't have rust issues in SoCal...
tho' the links are probably shot anyways.

Did you find some specific part numbers
that help decipher what struts are the correct fitment for oem ?

There are only a couple of different types. There are ones for ABS and non-ABS. I am the lucky one with non-abs so mine are a bit cheaper. Usually when you are searching auto parts sites you just have to use the drop down menus. If you still have a question they usually have 800 number for inquires. I was recently out in california and some of there lovely roads will dictate that you DEFINITELY need new struts lol.
