Wow that's a good price on the LSD but I really don't like the gearing of the 4t40-E. I think in the near future I'll convert to a 5sp manual F16CR.

with the sound file my car does 0 to 70 on with only 1 shift... that means it stays on 2nd then shifts to 3rd then 6200 on 3rd then 4th on 80... wtf! how come my car cant stay on 1st then 2nd then 3rd instead of 2nd then 3rd but crusing on the highway stays 4th because the hold button keeps the gear on 3rd when pressed it shifts to 3rd wtf! unless u do reverse for some seconds then drive then the car does 1st then 2nd then 3rd

What transaxle type is installed in Nubira?

Post by Croco »

I am a little bit lost. Does anyone can help me?

At DaewooUS web page I have found 2 different types of transaxles: GMPT and ZF16: http://www.daewoous.com/Group.aspx?model=J150&group=3

I don't know what really mean GMPT. Is it 4T40E? Where I can look at to confirm this?

-------------------------------------

There are several types of GMPT:
24210490
24212163
24212166 (according to faceplate on it - I have this one)
24212169
24217877

And only one type of ZF16: 96286025

-------------------------------------

In general Daewoo was using: 3T40E (TH125), 4T40E, 4T45E, 4T60E, A44DL, AW50-42LE, MX17, ZF4HP14. This is what I have found at http://www.samko.pl/download/cat2005.pdf

Transaxle decoding

Post by Croco »

Finaly I have found. My transaxle has a number: 610ZZRJ0ZDX0
61 - Assembly Plant (Windsor, Canada)
0 - Model Year ("8" means 1996, "0" - ???)
ZZ - Broadcast code (???)
R - Model Name (R means 4T40E)
J - Update Level (???)
0ZDX0 - serial number

Now I am sure what I have :)

actually the 4T40E is one of GM's most popular automatics. it has at least three different configurations/bell housings that I know of and perhaps more.
