1998 Daewoo Lanos manual to auto conversion

I recently purchased a manual 1998 Daewoo Lanos with 53000 genuine k's on the clock for my girlfriends first car but she's struggling with a manual and wants me to sell the car or trade for an auto. The reason i bought the Daewoo was of the original km's and would rather convert to auto providing it isn't going to be a nightmare. Does anyone know if this is reasonably easy and cost effective to do or should i save my money and trade it in?
