Need Some Brake Advice
OK, my front brakes on the passenger side have bound up twice lately, not completely but very noticable. I'm not much of a mechanic but my neighbor is so he volunteered to help me . I have a 1.6, 2000 Lanos. I ordered the DAC style bake cylinder and the brake hose that connects to it. We were all good to go when he took off the tire and tried to disconnect the fitting from the rigid brake line to the flexible brake line. That fitting would not budge! he tried soaking it in penetrating oil a few times with no results. he tried a line wrench... no luck. Since he could do the caliper without taking that fitting apart, he replaced the caliper only. Hopefully that will fix the problem, but if not does anyone have any magic way to get that fitting apart without rounding the part or ruining the solid brake line? If the new caliper doesn't fix it we are goign to have to break that fitting apart somewhow. He's afraid we will then have to replace that whole line. I'm open to suggestions. thanks
