Boys the front page on this thread is wrong.

In South Africa (Seff Eefrika :D )
The 125kW superboss (154bhp) came out with a F20 AND an LSD...... not an F28. The F28 6 speed was only avail here on the TS AND it also had an LSD.

I have a 115kw Big Boss (F20) box, would i be better with that on the 1600 16V Turbo Woo than the current D16 (which seems to be holding up OK)

What i'm saying is, would the car have better acceleration and a longer top ?

I am looking for a better gearbox for my aveo which is a D16CR with changed 4.176 final drive ratio from the original 3.944. Which gearbox should I change to. I am looking to boost my aveo to about 250 to 280hp.

Currently my aveo has only 155hp with 200Nm of torque with the high compression 11.1:1 NA modification.

I am planning to change to low compression 8.8:1 pistons and boosting it with a T3 turbo. I am looking at 250hp on the wheel. I predict it should have about 350Nm torque. Will the current gearbox hold up to it?

Hard to say for sure.... you would definitely be near the limits.

Project Super-swift is running 18PSI of boost ( 2.0L 8V ) and is driven aggressively with a stock D16 on a very regular basis.... but he is careful with his shifting pattern

Then look at Nubaroo with all that torque going through his stock F18.

I would have thought the D20 would be a good choice..... but some have died with far less than 250hp.

I guess it depends on what your doing and how you shift.... if your going to be dropping the clutch going around a corner then none of these gearboxes would last very long.

Personally..... I'd consider converting an Opel F20 with an LSD over to hydraulic.
