Master List... Year, Make, Model, Engine code, Tranny Code

Post by gse_turbo »

This is a list I've been working on a little at a time. It's intended to be a complete list of all the different chassis that use an engine and transmission with the same bolt pattern.

Her is an example of the "bellhousing" bolt patter the is being referred to.
Image Image

The list should include engine and transmission codes. If the info is not there than I'm not sure of the code, if you have the car and/or know the code PM me or post it and I'll add it to the list.

because I'm located in the States I'll only post the cars available here. This way the info is more accurate, I hope the members from countries will loin in.

...so away we go! :D

...there are a lot more Saturn's, Geo's and Isuzu's than listed, I'm still getting that straight.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO ADD TO THE LIST HAVE ALL THE SAME INFO HANDY AS ABOVE. don't just throw on "F20" or "F28" without the car it came in.

NOTE: there is a difference in terminology that should be addressed. transmissions are reffereed to in two ways, their name/code (ie F16, D16, ...F28) and their RPO (ie.M25...). both should be listed if available, I get the impression the the M25 and F28 are the same unit, but I'm not sure.

99-05 Saab 9-3 2.3 DOHC turbo 5-speed manual and 4-speed auto FWD
• 99-?? Saab 9-5 2.5 V6 (not sure if it came as a manual) 4-speed auto FWD
• 99-?? Saab 9-5 3.0 V6 (not sure if it came as a manual) 4-speed auto FWD

Does that mean that with some motor mounts/rewiring we could put these engines in the lanos?

How about the engine mount or engine support does it have the same with the 04-08 Chevy Optra 5 2.0 DOHC (engine: U20SED) 5-speed manual (D20)? no modification needed??

I haven't been able to see a clear picture but I think the cassis is similar to the Nexia, Kadett E, Astra Mk2 and Lanos among others. if it is, I make a motor mount to mount the 2.0 Optra motor into these chasss. you have to give up power steering and AC though. you would have to confirm that they use the same engine bracket on the chassis though.

as for the gearbox, most of the Daewoos since the 80's have used the same mount on the left side of the chassis. the mount from the fire-wall is specific to the chassis and not the gearbox so that typically nevr changes either. the D20 gearbox is of (i'm using one for the time being) but I think the Espero probably uses an F16 gearbox which is better than the D20 from the Optra. in that case you can keep the gearbox you have and the Optra motor will bolt directly to it.
