Can i remove/adjust the rev limit?

Post by MMamdouh »

theoritically speaking: Yes but you got to know some important facts first:

Daewoos got rev limiter set to 6500RPM and this limitation is made for the purpose of protecting the engine, the only way to remove/adjust it is to get a piggy back (SMT7 or so) and mess arround with the limit.

when you managed to adjust the rev limiter then you will not gain any power whatsoever, actually you might be going slower as the power band for our stock engines drop like a rock after 6000 RPM, also going over 6500 RPM will make your valves more volunrable to float and hit the pistons resulting in bent valves, broken followers and maybe even worse. Engine damage will be eminent at this point.

if you decided to enforce your engine to handle the extra RPMs then you will pay a shit load of money to do that, OK the engine will not break past 6500RPM but still you will gain no extra performance. if you decided to heavly mod the engine to produce more power past the 6500 RPM limit then the cost of this project will be miles higher than other convensional mods that costs less as in swapping a C20XE or even aC20LET.

to cut it short: tampring with the rev limiter on a stock engine is the worst idea in the history of bad ideas.
