That is one awesome looking system! I wish I had the know-how and time to invest in a turbo project. It's unfortunate that that is a one-off system because if you made a few and maybe sold them on Ebay or to stores, you could make a pretty penny. There are plenty of guys who would buy turbo systems for the 1.5L.

Keep up the good work.

Wouldn't that fit 1.6l as well? They look very similar.

Yes it is a shame that everything is custom but it makes me feel special hehehehe :)

It could be easily replicated by any exhaust shop im sure. I'd only go to someone very reputable who specialise in stainless steel though. It took probably 1.5-2 days to do (a full day for 2 guys TIG welding the stainless charge pipes and 0.5-1 day for the exhaust manifold adaptor and down pipe).

I had an R32 intercooler and the turbo customised (was rotated and chopped) anyway so it wouldnt be that easy to replicate (in hind sight it wouldve been so much easier (and cheaper) to buy a custom aluminium one in the first place).

Ill try and get a step by step guide and parts list for exactly what you need.

The 1.5L exhaust manifold is different to the 1.6L and so is the air box and intake manifold, so the charge and exhaust pipes may be slightly different.

woo_sleeper wrote:1) ur feed for the turbo , where did u take it from ??
I got it from an oil sandwich adaptor normally used for an oil cooler. I ran a tube between the out and the in from the adaptor and T-ed off that. This works perfect - just make sure all the fittings are thread taped or loctite-ed. Looks a bit christmas tree-ish but works fine. I'll try and get a photo when i replace the O-ring. All the lines are teflon stainless steel braided hose.

No way. All stock internals and head gasket. I did have the head gasket replaced though.
woo_sleeper wrote:3) does ur oil pressure go above 70 and leake out of the turbos compresor out let??
I dont know the pressure but it doesnt leak anywhere and the turbo is getting plenty of lubrication. I had the o-ring for the oil filter sandwich adaptor pinched and i lost 4L of oil in about 5 seconds - twice  So plenty of pressure and it works great.
woo_sleeper wrote:4) u didnt change anythi in ur Ecu??
No changes to the ECU. I have put check valves on the MAP sensor tube and have a Malpassi 1:1 rising rate fuel pressure regulator in series with the stock regulator and standard injectors. Depending on how dyno-ing goes i may change upto the Nubira injectors (i have them anyway so i may as well use them). I have new spark plugs (NGK V-Groove) and aftermarket plug leads.

I have to change the oil return tube to a stainless steel braided hose because it is very close to the down pipe, but apart from that everything is fine.

I'll try and write a step by step guide and a parts list for exactly what you need to do a turbo daewoo :) I bought somethings and didnt use them like i bought about 2 sets of wrong fittings for the sandwich adaptor too.

Any questions im happy to answer.

the air box is common on both engines... the rubber tube from the air box to the intake is different though as well as all the other parts you mentioned.

I believe airbox is different too. I ordered a K&N air filter element for the standard airbox and they had different part numbers and dimensions listed for the 1.5 and 1.6L engines...

i don't know about K&N filters but the Daewoo parts manual shown that both engines got the same air box.

First off, are you sure that your turbo is good, is it used, rebuilt or what, it might be that ur turbo is not good. as far as teh oil pressure raising, I am not sure, but having a higher oil pressure is not necessarily that bad. How did you install the guage for the oil pressure. If you want help , u need to take some good pics of the install and post them. If you want any help, just pm me and I will do everything in my power to help you out. Boy, I must say, this year has been good for turbo woo's , three in the same month, that is amazing.

wow, I jsut read teh post again, 100psi, man sonething is wrong, there is no way you can have an oil pressure or 100psi, that will mess up the oil seals on the turbo. Did you guys rebuild the enginge? Did you changeteh oil pump, or take it out. It sounds like teh spring in the pump is either stuck or you assembled the pump the wrong way, there is no way that you can run that high of a pressure, there will be oil coming out of the comrpessor side of the turbo, because 100psi of oil pressure will definately mess things up, that could life you off the ground, 100 psi is a lot, i would recommend that you take apart the oil pump and see what is going on. I would not recomend that you do any driving, or anything. YOu really need to get that looked at, if you can't do it yourself, becuase you might have already messed up the oil seals on the turbo.
