Thanks man, I should be getting a dyno run done soon. I'd be happy with over 80kw at the wheels considering the age of the engine...

Also, I removed the badges and gave the car a name

I thought it was a fitting name considering the Leggy engine, BMW wheels, and STI exhaust... it's a bit confused

Next thing is paint the interior of the headlights

I painted the headlight inserts...

They turned out nicely and makes the car look a lot meaner. They look better IRL, it was hard to get a good pic with the glare.

That looks great. I've been wanting to do it as well. What did you do to get the lense off without damaging it?

Oven at 210*F/110*C for 15 mins and a plastic ruler (and patience) I didn't remove the wiring, only the plastic cap because it has a rubber seal. Then just rubbed the chrome with steel wool and put paint straight on. The only part of the insert I masked was the indicator reflector.

I also put them back together as soon as I got the insert out and when it was time to put the insert in you have to re split it. This keeps the glue intact.
I did it in a night. You have to watch the grey plastic of the main light body as it can be brittle.

A bit of an update...
one of the reasons I haven't been back to check whether the forums is back or not... but in August last year a drunk driver rear ended me as I was stopped at a red light (I'm still trying to get the money I'm owed, even though I sued successfully...)
so instead of re-registering the lanos I bought a new car.

A 2003 Opel/Vauxhall/Holden Astra OPC/GSI/SRI-T Z20LET

this is the day I bought it with my wife's blue turbo

I'm keeping the lanos and when I have money again, I might fix it or get a cheap shell to put the engine into, I would probably get a Le mans as they are a fair bit lighter than the lanos (and cheaper/older)
