Back in the beginning: 2008

Just thought I've been on here long enough
It's time to show everyone what I've got...

So to begin...

Bought my 2000 lanos last year at this time after my Subaru wagon decided to roast itself for the third time
The lanos was a bargain... very good condition with 54000kms on the clock
Image

It was stock as a rock and pretty ordinary...
First mod was speakers...
Image

2x12" Visonik 250WRMS subs
4x100WRMS no name amp

front speakers
4" Infinity Reference 2-ways

then came the rims...
Image

bought the rims but later found one was cracked and was leaking air

so for a couple of months I was rolling around on 3 17"s and a stock 13"... real ricer style

then trawling the internet and found one of the same type... but gunmetal grey in colour

so I had to paint it... took about 3 days
1 for sanding
1 for primer and
1 for paint
then I finally had a full set of wheels

Image

then came some interior mods...
Image

first came central locking

then
short shift and pedals
Image

then cold air intake with K&N panel filter
Image

Image

then new head unit and rear speakers
Image
panasonic cq-c8403

Image
Orion Cobalt 6" 2-ways

and thats about it for the moment...

:D

You should do your grill, maybe put fog lights on it, tint your windows, maybe even paint your interior :D

Haha you are the second person to tell me to tint my windows...
It's on my list!
The foglights... I need spotlights! Too many bloody kangaroos round where I live.

well apart from the apparent problem of spokes cracking... I love them

pretty unique too and lightweight

Yeah they are under the seat

they are 12" neons and they're just cable tied to a cross rail under the seat with a hidden switch in the pocket under the radio

12" is probably a little too big, you could get away with smaller, it's just i had them lying around

***[UPDATE]*** Re: Benzino's 2000 Lanos

Post by benzino »

Havn't been on in ages... so busy with uni, but I thought I'd give everyone a quick update on my woo!

Firstly,
Bent one of my 4 spoke lenso wheels on a piece of wood that fell off a logging truck

Image

Gave me a good excuse to update the wheels!!
Got a set of Apec Apache's reduced from AU$990 down to AU$550
All I can say is they look sooo much sweeter...
They've got a nice amount of deep dish as well :D

Image

Image

I junked the back box and added a cherry bomb to help it breath a little easier, sounds nice as well and isn't too loud :)

Also, last night, went to my first SPL comp and posted 130.9 dB and came 5th in my class :D :D
I'm pretty sure I can increse to at least 131 with different song choice but I was a bit of a n00b and didn't really reserach

Anyways, hope everyone's going well with their woo's and happy modifying :D
