I am looking for a turbo solution either 1.6L or 2.0L (1.6L for now) but all the small block engines on that site seem to be NA....

...get this thing dynoed and what are your plans next?

2Efrain: This conversion is great. 1.6 16V is nice engine. But this is killer! From 2krpm it goes strong. But on 5krpm to limit (6500) it goes mad. Wheels are spining on first 3 gears. It loads third gear faster than A16DM loads second gear! It is damn killer!

2bosnian: Dodji na moj hrvatski forum, ako vec nisi. www.cro-chevy.com

2lanos2001: It's not much heavier then A16DM. Maybe 60lbs. It's even better for drag...

2aveosam: Well here is c20xe very popular and easy gettable. But c20let is very rare. Even in Europe.

2sim0ng: No turbo needed. I have powercap on. Open exhaust. Open inlet (BMC CDA). Maybe chip tunning. And thats it. More power on FWD isn't needed. And respons to the pedal is wonderfull. In every gear on 2krpm, just put pedal to the metal, and it roars to limit in notime.... Turbo would kill this fast response, and wonderfull sound... And Lanos woudn't stand that torque... :D

2johnnyc: It cost me about 3k$.

Everybody on the street turns head in my direction, when I put pedal to the metal... :D It is monster.... :D

2Efrain: Yep. Now I feel that 6th gear is needed... :D Top speed is limited with 5th gear ratio, because it goes to the limit in 5th... :D

2ivan: This is to slow for c20xe. It must go all the way to 6600rpm in the 5th gear...

The engine is monster. It loads hard from 2k rpm, but after 5k rpm it explodes to the limit at 6600rpm... It is amasing. Chasy twists in first and second gear....

As I sad It loads 3rd gear faster than 1.6 16V loads 2nd gear. I couldn't see speeds on each gear limit because it loads it hard and fast.

4th gear is about 175kmph on limit. 5th gear is about 225kmph on limit. Third gear is about 135kmph on limit. Second gear is about 95kmph on limit...

Ofcourse, speedometer lies about 5-7kmph... Gearbox is stock from Lanos 1.6 16V. It's F16CR with 3.72FDR... It is the best option for this engine. It isn't for top speed and highway. But acceleration, and inaceceleration is monstrous....

I had first day fight with my friend on the highway. He has drived Ford Focus Sport CDTi with 136HP. He thought that Lanos is peace of cake to take... :D
I step aside and let him leed to top speed (that was about 210kmph on my speedometer), and when he step aside, I have driven pased him so fast, that he was so supprised... :D

Mister g: depends on the type of gearbox you have - F16 or F20. I have F16.

Ok im definately not going to rebuild my engine. Im saving up 3k and doing this, it looks perfect in the lanos and from what you claim the extra speed is amazing. Whats your 0-60 time?

Maybe 6.2 to 0-60mph, I don't think so, that you can do it while shifting in the 3rd gear.... Notice, that your speedometer is lying about 7kmph, so when you see 100kmph, it's 92kmph acctually...

I think that 7-8s is more realistic... Maybee with some good tyres you get go belove 7s, but 6.2 is tooo unrealistic...
