Interesting, as I study very carefully the manuals for the Lanos, and it shows no sensors whatsoever around the crank pulley. You are not confusing that with the cam sensor?

Well, then we might have a problem then.... If the ring gear is not removable, this may make the pulley too expensive to manufacture. Also, we do not have an access to such pulley.

We'll wait for the pics.

I took some pictures of the Pulley of the Lanos . This is what I've being trying to say weeks ago.

As you can see on this pic, the sensor is at the left side.

This one shows that it got 2 spaces for each belt.

Let me know what you think about this.

Yes. Looks like you have the older v belt style. I think this group buy is for the newer 1.6 with the serp. belt. I think the later lanos has the serp. belt not the v. but if it does, does it have the same crank sensors?

Well I have a 2000 and mines exactly the same.
From back to front:
It has the gear in the back for the crank pos. sensor.
Then the serp belt that runs the power steering and alt.
Then the v-belt for the A/C

We need someone to send us a sample. There are still 5 people with Lanos, so we can still go ahead.

It would be interesting to see if the new tensioning system can be adapted to the Lanos... who will volunteer???

What may make the price change is if the crank wheel is attached to the crank pulley. If not, the pulley should still be around the same pricerange. We cannot get exact quote before having the pulley.

Dont know. You have to compare the picture of the Lanos pulley to the one on your car.

Since I know the Daewoos when they arrived to PR on the '98, the Lanos 1.5 & 1.6 have the same pulley. The wheel from where the crank sensor takes the signal is all one piece of the pulley. The pulley of the Aveo cannot be adapted because the power steering pump is located at the front part like the Nubira & Leganza. If you can see the oil filter, near it there is a hole. There you will see the crank sensor of the Aveo.

I think that if you are going to make this pulley, it's gonna cost a lot. For the Honda, which is similar but it's not serpentine and does not have the crank sensor, cost aprox $320.

Tom: I'll be waiting for your comments. I'm still interested. When this is installed to the Hondas, it feels a great difference.

Yes, I was just going to say the same thing. $40 on eBay seems to be the average for Honda's pulleys.
