Kinky 2.0 headers, mid-pipes, and forenza/reno CAT-backs

Post by kinkyllama »

Kinky 4-2-1 performance header:

The premise of this 4-2-1 header was to increase the performance of the Suzuki Forenza by eliminating the extremely restrictive factory header and cat, whilst maintaining a discreet simple design that bolts to the factory midpipe. The system uses a shorty tri-y design to merge the 1.5" primaries to the 2.5" outlet, thus creating a rapid expansion chamber to dramatically increase torque across the powerband.
The flange-primary connection uses a conical transfer to reduce the 2" port size to a 1.5" primary, which is the ideal diameter for the cfm given to maximize velocity in the runner. This is a costly but necessary feature which separates this from the others. The others will simply use a 2" primary to match the port, al the way to the midpipe collector, to simplify the fabrication, however this is reducing velocity, making the header only useful for high RPM use, creating a "peaky" powerband.
When the conical transfer connects to the primaries, the end of the cone is actually 1 3/8", whilst the 1.5" primary overlaps the cone. This creates a "Step" inside the primary, which traps slow moving gasses so they do not move back into the exhaust port. They will tumble around, and fall back into the exhaust stream. This feature enables the header to maintain excellent idle qualities, and prevents ANY reversion from happening in the header. Other bits include 3/8" thick cold rolled steel flange, o2 sensor bung, and 2.5" outlet. They are meticulously hand fabricated from the finest materials available. Weights 9.3lbs, compared to the stock ~23lbs. "For off road use only"--may cause a CEL

Kinky Mid-pipe:
2.5" stainless steel mid-pipe with a high quality hi-flow CAT(Available without CAT). The mid-pipe also include a o2 sensor bung after the CAT and will bolt up to either the stock manifold or the Kinky headers. This mid-pipe doesn't add much noise, and takes away a tad bit of raspyness if you even have it. If you buy the mid-pipe without a Kinky CAT-back the end will just have extra length of piping and you'll have to go to an exhaust shop to have them cut it to your length and weld on a flange to fit whatever CAT-back your running. "For off road use only"--may cause a CEL
