Hey zerosilence,

Your post is kinda vague. Here are some questions for you.

1)...What was the origional problem ?
2)...Which "ground wire" are you refering to ? The battery ground cable or a seperate one ?
3)...Is your battery fully charged ?
4)... Do you have the (+) battery cable hooked up to the (+) battery post ?
5)...What model car is this ?

one suggestion;
Be sure all your connections are clean and tight and not corroded.

ok its a 2000 daewoo lanos h/b. the org. problem is after i instal the aftermarket grounding kit ( i put from the negitive to body to engine) secured them tightly and after i made sure of it i put on the positive bach on the + side of the batery and same with the negitive side. after that i start the car and the electronics work but when i try to start the car it wont turn over and start. what do you think i should do about this?

Maybe the wire going to the starter is loose or not connected?????

Was this part of the grounding kit?

If it wasn't then theres your problem, the starter has to be grounded and positive blah blah.. for it to work.

The way your car came set up from the factory is with two (seperate) wires connected at the starter. They connect at the starter's solanoid.
One is red and about 14 gauge, it has a 10mm nut holding it on to a small post.
The other wire is black. It is a larger gauge wire and goes on a post in the top center of the solanoid.

It's held on by a 12 or maybe 14 mm nut.
Thats how you car came from the factory. If the starter and battery are good ? It will crank that way.
Be sure the two starter mounting bolts are tight as well as the three phillip-head screws in the back of the solanoid.

hope this helps.

ok im kinda lost(its kinda late for me) i thought with the aftermarket grounding kit you only mess with the (-) side of the battery terminal. isnt the starter all on the (+) side? im sorry if im confusing anyone this is my first time doing a grounding kit. i know when i took off the terminal in the (-) side there were two terminals one going to the body ground to the trannie and the other im not sure where, where as the (+) side only has one wire (that i know of).

I dont have my book handy..but most starters ground themselves by being bolted to the engine block.
I think maybe you left off the black wire I refered to up a couple of replys ?

Remember you have two wires bolted on to the starter selonoid. one is for the switch, and one is for the battery power.
Both should be (+) or "positive."

The starter mounting bolts (the ones that hold it onto the engine block?) provide the (-) or "ground."

p.s. if I am wrong? someone please correct me ?

Starter is located on the rear/side of the engine, close to the firewall side of your car, just above the transmission.
Yeah, with your (+) attitude. :)
You will get it going.
good luck.

if the wire is too small, that could be your problem, you should use 4 aug wire (minimum). also, you need a wire to go from battery to block, and one to go from battery to body, make sure all connections are tight and all metal is clear of any paint, dirt, grease, oil or any thing else
