HVE's website is currently under renovation so I can't see the items. I haven't seen it in person, anyway. But be adviced that the parts that they make are primarily for the 1.5L sohc Lanos. So bear in mind that some parts, like the cams, will not fit the 1.6L dohc. Other parts will fit, like shocks and springs...that sort of thing. Not sure how much different the sohc exhaust is from the dohc...but the headers could be different. Aft of the headers may be the same though. Check it out:

Yeah I've Got It

Post by Red Bull »

I've bought the HVE exhaust a few years ago
1. Yes you can feel the different
2. Bloody LOUD, because it is mandrel bent and there are not resonator
So if you want to hear your music dont get it
3. Expensive

With that and the bigger throttle body
I can rap my friend Lancer 1.8L and Honda Civic 1.8L

My opinion is to leave the stock exhaust and go for the extractor and throttle body, you'll kick some ass with that.

I've got most of the HVE product so if anyone want to know about it just ask :P

Where did you get the bigger throttle from ???

With the exhaust, is it a deep note or a high pitched note ???
Cheers! Evan
Buy a Lanos, you'll love it

Big Throttle Body

Post by Red Bull »

I didnt get the throttle body from HVE, but u can try them.
I live in Perth, so I went to RPW, and they made a custom throttle body for me. I was thinking of swaping to a twin throttle, but not worth it
However if u dont want to go that far, then go to a decent mod shop, and tell them to bigger bore the throttle and then change the butterfly to suit,
I think this should make u happy.

HVE exhaust is LOUD....It deep when cruizing, but grumble along like a commowhores when accelerating, but louder if u know what i mean.
But it wont be so bad, if u place in a resonator.
I didnt want to lose any pony, so i didnt :-)

Throttle Body

Post by Red Bull »

One more thing i forgot to tell you guys.
Throttle body is serious business.
It is for real enthusiest, for really mechanics.

I got the throttle body, camshaft and the Power chip, put in at the same time, so the mechanic can dyno tune it properly.

Cause it all got to do with the air/fuel ratio and lift.

OK....it can be expensive do it like that but it is safe and so much more rewarding experience. So dont play with the car if u got no $$$ to back it up.

P.S.....I just beat a Tiburon V6 tonight, so im very happy, hence take time to post all this info :)

What car do you have Red Bull?

If you gone change parts of the exhaust, start form back to front.
No want to send gases again to the engine, right?

And also, never buy some thing you hasn,t see.

About the HDK parts, you live in AU, the shping will me big. Try to find a muffler shop near you who can make it.

About changing trothle etc. remember if more air enter to the engine you have to get it out, so think about buy exhaus, and hi flow catalitic and header (4, 2 ,1).

Anyway the shit I got in my "Red Bull" 1.5SOHC lanos
HVE 2 inch mandrel sport exhaust
HVE camshaft
HVE high compression head
75mm throttle body
K&N Cold Air Intake
4-1 Extractor
DVE Quick shift

Jetspeed Front and Rear, SSV side skirt
17" shooting star rims
And Custom Red Interior done by myself

It is pretty fast but.....i want the sound of the blow off valve, like my silvia S15....So im swaping it for the nubira engine then later turbo charge it.
The reason i dont want to turbo the 1.5 is because its not the strongest engine holden ever build nubira is better....best in daewoo range (its solid)
