I think it may be age dependant - with most Daewoo engines there was bit of an overhaul (minor changes, but enough to make some parts incompatible as I've found out in the past) around 2000.

Usually 1997-1999 models would follow one setup and 2000-2002 models would follow another.

Can you give us the first 11 out of 17 digits of your VIN?

Your automatic tensionner is above the water pump on this 1.6DOHC. And you have to set the tension by rotating this water pump. Look for "Gates TB 022" here http://ww2.gates.com/europe/index.cfm?location_id=6180 .

Since you are replacing timing belt I hardly recommend you to change the whole kit (belt/tensionner/idler/water pump) since a broken part anywhere there is as bad as a broken belt. Look here, same engine concept: http://youtu.be/te40MAgtQQE

If you keep the water pump change at least it's Oring.

hi, , thanks for ya help , REALLY appreciate it.... 1 last question , the timing marks on the attached pic show marks at 12 clock. but on the gates tech bulletin show the marks facing each other , intake at 3 clock and exhaust at 9 clock whats correct ?

Certainly not! Idiot only doesn't ask question.
Should you need further doc about 1.6DOHC just ask. Or have a look at the "how-to" or "faq" sections.
