lanos 1.5 camshaft replacement

Post by lilblue »

Can someone point me in the right direction on how to replace the camshaft.

Number 4cylinder is extremely worn down to a point the car is running so rough its causing engine lights and pwrs lights to appear.

Thank you

what codes are you getting? Are you sure it's the camshaft and not just the sensor? The sensors are known to be a problem. it might save you alot of hassle and $$ to be sure first. Not trying to insult you or anything, just trying to sve you save you some time and $$. The sensor change is not that big of a deal. I can't help if it's the camshaft, but I am sure some of these guys can chime in and help you out. you may have to wait a few days as some of the guys are not on here every day. They will probably ask the codes ? too so you may want to post them now. Good luck.

I would be interested to know what codes are comig up as well.

In all the experience I've had with DOHC motors I've never heard of a single came on a single cylinder fail. Typically it's the hydraulic lifters or can sensor.

Just to clarify, what pointed you in the direction of a failed cam shaft?
