Does the orange engine warning light comes ON when in problem?
Does it the same problem if just before revs up you remove the connector of IAC (idle air control) valve?

What car?
Model year?
How many miles/km?
Maintenance as per manual?

Check the Idle mixer module on the throttle body. I think that is what it's called. My Daewoo Lanos used to do that. Take the module out and clean it off with carb cleaner and a rag. There was so much gunk on mine I had to wipe it. Before I fixed it I would just reset the ECM to make it go away until it happened again every 2 months or so.

Take the opportunity that the check light is ON to pull the code(s) by the paper clip method.
Here for the Espero. Same for Nexia.
