t18sed replacement block question

Post by stuartbrown »

Hi All

I have a 2003 Daewoo Lacetti with a T18SED engine in it, however it has a stuffed piston which is causing a knocking noise, I am unable to find any new pistons or used parts for this engine here in Australia!! I can find Vectra X20XEV or Nubira 2000cc or 1600cc.

Could any one confirm which engine block I could use to replace the T18SED block? I would like to use the T18SED cylinder head and bolt it to another block or have the T18SED block re-bored to take a 2000cc piston?

Any ideas or help will be very welcome

thanks in advance

should be able to just grab a t20sed/c20sed block out of a nubira or leganza and use that. It should be exactly the same. The 1.8, 2.0, and 2.2 all have the same bore size (86mm) it was only the stroke that changed :)

but I'm a little confused, are you after the block or the pistons?

the other option is to just grab a 2.0 or 2.2 and replace your 1.8 with it... they look exactly the same physically and mount the same way, you wouldn't need to have it engineered just get the engine number changed at rego.

what state do you live in?
