Socket size for Leganza cylinder head bolts?

Post by sjs294 »

I have found myself with a blown head gasket.... fun job, I'm sure. 2001 Daewoo Leganza.
I've broken things down to get at the cylinder head bolts, but for the life of me, I cannot find a socket that fits perfect on the bolts.

The bolt head appears to be a female 6 point star type.

I've tried a male torx T50, but it is too small, the next size i can find, a T55 is too big.
A 8mm hex socket seems to fit closest, but it still is a little loose.

Does anyone know the correct size? I am worried about stripping the head, or worse, breaking it off completely...

Thank you very much!

have you tried to fit an imperial sized hex socket, you might find one a tiny bit smaller than 8mm?

And you are right in that there is no size between T50 and T55

someone on here might know the correct size
