2000 Leganza Error Codes

Having trouble with the 2000 Leganza that we gave to our 18 yr old grandson. He has been having trouble with it running rough, coughing and sputtering at speeds of 45 mph. It also dies when idling at stop lights.

He took it to the garage today and the mechanic ran a diagnostic on and this is what it returned:

P0118
P1404
P0405
P0128
P1627

The mechanic said my grandson should junk the car ---- that it is not worth fixing. I’m not so sure and wanted to see what you all thought.

I believe someone on here has organized a topic and listed the OBD codes. If you use the search function you should be able to find it. Good luck. At least it is running!

P0118 ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE HIGH VOLTAGE (check resistance value vs temperature or change it. check plug fixation/oxydation)

P0128 ? unknown

P0405 EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION PINTLE POSITION LOW VOLTAGE (try spraying carb cleaner on the pintle axe. check plug fixation/oxydation)

P1404 EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION CLOSED VALVE PINTLE ERROR (same as above)

P1627 PCM/ECM A/D CONVERSION ERROR (check speed sensor/ speed sensor connector)

When all checks are done reset error codes and drive car watching for new MIL.

The P0128 error code is "temp below reg temp" ... whatever that means. LOL

And I missed one.. there is also a p0300 random missfire
