Engine bogging/surging (FIXED - Was the CAT)

I've noticed my engine has started to 'surge' or 'bog' (whichever way you want to look at it) recently. It isn't too horrible in town, but on the highway it's been doing it a little heavier. Suggestions on what could be the issue? The effect is kinda like: "VROOOooOOOooOOOooOOOoom" kinda... What mig...

Looks like you did a nice job with that. If you don't find any takers on here and it's just laying about, I wouldn't mind having a rear strut bar. Of course I still want a front strut bar too. :)

Either way. Looks good bro. :)

does it continue to squeel after a min? if so id say tighten it a lil bit more, mine did that after i got my new belt, but i just got it a lil bit tighter and it stoped Ummm... It generally only does it when I'm at idle somewhere and then start driving. Within' a second or two of the engine revving...

I've tried anti-slipping spray... still slips/chirps/squeals.

I'll check and see about them being a little too wide. I know the one I have right now is OEM spec. It's just annoying that when I turn on my lights + anything or sometimes just my lights, it'll squeal.

It might be. You saying that my alternator itself is making the noise and not the belt? Then when I turn on the rear defrost or something the alternator suddenly starts making bearing noise?

Intermitten squealing alternator belt under load. Need ideas

For some reason, whenever it gets damp or cold outside, my alternator belt squeals when turn on the lights and rear defrost. Sometimes just the lights alone will do it. I don't notice any dimming of the interior lights or anything, but it is pretty damn annoying and embarrassing. I've replaced the a...

Thanks Spider. I'm gentle on my clutch and so is my wife, so I'm guessing it will last a good long while. :) I was just curious. :)

Oh... Hmmm I'm thinking you have had a dreaded timing belt snap. I wish you luck. Search the forums about timing belt snaps, but I don't think you're going to like it much.

No problem man. As to the problem you're talking about, well... I'm not sure about all of it, but I know that when I've gotten a lot of hot air into my short-ram intake, it has dropped the power considerably. I eventually built a heat shield and it now pulls more cool air from the wheel well rather ...

Fixed. :) There is a little arm that sticks up from the main shaft of the linkage. It has a little ball joint at the end and leads over to some other stuff. Well. That little bar was bent slightly to the left, so the arm couldn't pull the thing connected to the ball joint over far enough for it to g...

The bottom one is a Saturn Sky... GM decided that in order to try and make Daewoo the number one car company in Korea they would introduce a sporty car...aka the Saturn Sky which has been rebadged as the Daewoo G2X. I remember reading about it on a website...maybe on edmunds.com or something. Jimmy...

Okay... so I got everything re-tightened down and jacked it up to look underneath. Everything looked alright down there, but probably wouldn't notice the slight difference in whatever is wrong unless it was obvious. So I let it back down and hop in. Now if I push hard to the right and move it up, it...

Just a thought but if the motor mount was allowing the engine to droop some...then maybe the linkage that goes from the shifter got bent a small amount somewhere and when you fixed the mount the bent linkage doesn't line up perfect anymore? Jimmy I thought of that. I've been outside inspecting the ...
