Re: GsiTurbo 2.0L 16V Turbo **UPDATE**

Well the bitter sweet end is in sight, the GSi is most likely going to find a new owner tomorrow. After a dozen or so hours working with the soon to be new owner, the car is up and running strong with a custom manifold and a T3 Super 60 turbo In stock condition it pulls a consistent 10psi at 3/4 thr...

Re: lanos 1.5 turbo pistons

Given I do not know where your from, I don't know which version of 1.5L you have. I'm going to guess it is the SOHC and I'm going to make the assumption your block is the same as the Canadian market 1.5L The biggest issue is that you have the 1.5L which has a bore of 76.5mm, it is simply a 1.6L bloc...

Re: Nubaroo Corsa B Project REVISED

OK so I had the Corsa on the dyno today - Only managed to get to 1.6bar boost( 252WKW/480NM) as Wallbro fuel pump (255LPH) could not keep up with fuelling demand. Will add Bosch 044 pump later this week and re-dyno car I did not get to the point where I had to worry too much about running out of fu...

Re: Ultimate 2.0 16v turbo build

I would like to reach the 600 mark but I imagine that I would drive it de-tuned or restricted to a lower number. Although more power is alway cool, I mostly want to reach that range just to say its possible with our motors. 600whp and higher has been done hundreds if not thousands of times in the O...

Re: Ultimate 2.0 16v turbo build

So I guess I misspoke earlier about our 2.0 motors having a "low" rod-stroke ratio at 1.66:1. After widening my comparisons, here's a list just for kicks... I also misspoke, your still using the 2.0L crank so you will not be increasing the acceleration and deceleration of the piston/rod, so it's on...

Re: Ultimate 2.0 16v turbo build

Are you using the 2.2L block and longer rod length to decrease rod angle and increase dwell time @ TDC ? I've had some thoughts to do the same thing in the past, but I was unsure if it would really produce any significant results with a turbo engine. It makes sense to do it on an ultimate N/A build ...

Re: 2000 Daewoo Lanos S 1.6L

sounds like good advice, my only input is: 1 ) The build up of a 2.0L is cheaper in the long run, it will make more reliable power and it is a direct drop in. 2 ) Be sure to focus money on sensors and engine management ( wideband O2, EGT, standalone ECU ) Before starting, is your car a manual 5spd o...

Re: Turbo Optra - CT12 Dyno Session Video

Tony, the point I am making ( which you support with your response ) is the measurement is a relative figure as opposed to an accurate physical measurement. Quite simply if all variables are generally the same ( position, air/fuel ) and you start playing with different turbo configurations ( housing...

Re: Turbo Optra - CT12 Dyno Session Video

As far as the discussion related to intake manifold pressure vs exhaust manifold pressure I would like to make a few points. 1 ) The measurement technique used in this dyno video is flawed, a boost gauge is not an accurate measurement tool in this circumstance, the correct measurement tool is a wate...

Re: Turbo Optra - CT12 Dyno Session Video

To the best of my knowledge the closest match to the CT12B is the T3 "45" trim, which should not exhibit surge unless you are closing the throttle body without a BOV. I am curious about your progressive boost curve vs dyno graph data, you made far less power/torque than I would expect for 11psi so I...

Quite an interesting setup, why did you decide to put surge ports on your compressor ?

Re: Lemans/Kadett Project status: ACTIVE

I have two good 16V heads kicking around my shop, but I have to wonder how much it would cost to ship and whether it would actually arrive at your place. I'm pretty sure there are some problems with this, if I remember correctly the XE and SED have different timing belt shapes ( notches are differen...
