Re: Such low forum activity!

Chris: I think emailing the last 200-300 active users as you mentioned is a good start.... Too bad we can't just email EVERYONE and let the dead email addresses bounce. Easier said than done, I'm going to have to figure out the max number of emails I can send out during a given day/week/month then ...

Re: Such low forum activity!

Sorry for everything Chris. Care to elaborate? Considering you are posting in the only active thread here.. That post from Efrain was for me and he does not need to explain himself to anyone. This forum was started by Efrain due to his enthusiasm for Daewoo cars, he paid for this site out of his ow...

Re: Such low forum activity!

I don't know what to say, this daewootechforum.com has been up, functional and running since last September and Efrain sent out mass email. Again, I have received the one in September and again I have received the one I just sent out. I'm 99% sure it's an issue with respect to the hosting company on...

Re: Such low forum activity!

Well, I found a way to single out the individual members who have been active in 2013 and 2014 that have made more than 1 post. The number was a more manageable 131 users, but I still received an email error in the admin panel : However, I just checked my email and it seems that an email did go out,...

Re: Such low forum activity!

Attempted a mass email to the remaining 2400+ members, however I have received errors, which I assume to be related to the total quantity of emails to be sent out. I would have to manually enter each username unless I delete a large number of users ( which is time consuming due to the admin panel co...

Re: Such low forum activity!

Well, I deleted all the inactive users ( about 1600 ), then I deactivated and deleted all the people that have zero posts and have not been on the forum since before 2012. Needless to say, there are still two thousand members, so I need to look at active membership of people who have posted within t...

Re: Such low forum activity!

I should also mention that we have 4183 members and 98% are inactive for quite some time. I thought about pruning the membership, but there are guys who use to drop by the site once in a blue moon, so I'm not sure what is the best route. Obviously mass emailing 4000 inactive users is not ideal, espe...

Re: Such low forum activity!

It's been so long I forgot my password!!!! Efrain sent out a mass email on September 13,2013 with the new Domain Name. Given I have not been on in a long time, I am unaware of any issues the forum was having. Given there has been such low activity I assumed people lost interest in posting on the for...

Re: Such low forum activity!

Personally I think it should be known what is going on. Efrain did not hold the title for the original domain registration. Over the years there have been attempts to get the domain name back into the control of Efrain ( or myself ) but the person who has controlled ownership over the years has refu...

    You better make him post here! Originally it was going to the fellow with the "Funbird" project, but after discussions about priorities I eventually sold it to his good friend, who also helps with the funbird project http://www.daewootech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=14548...

Re: The longest Thread ever!!!

For when I buy another Lanos (note, not 'if', but definitely 'when') I am probably going to turbocharge it, again. These last few weeks I have literally been waking up at silly hours in the morning thinking of new ideas (one involved a rear-wheel-drive conversion) knowing that this will not be a po...

Re: 3rd Cylinder Misfire

If it runs fine, why worry about it? Personally I think your just wasting your money if you take it to a mechanic for such a minor issue. If on the other hand it does not feel right, or if it hiccups, runs rough, uses lots of fuel.... then it's worth fixing. Did the problem occur after you put new p...

Re: NA mods for 1.6 E-TecII

SBD is in England, all Vauxhalls are RHD I would not think that RHD vs LHD would make much difference. If you shave the block your likely going to have problems with the piston clearance anyways, so either way the pistons need replacement, I would however suggest staying away from shaving the block ...

Re: NA mods for 1.6 E-TecII

I would suggest looking towards the SBD Motorsports for ideas on your N/A 1.6L If you look at the kit for 190bhp they have moved to 11.5:1 compression pistons with forged connecting rods. In the 164bhp setup they have inserted ARP bolts in the connecting rods to move the Redline from 7250 to 7750 RP...
