Re: The longest Thread ever!!!

It's starting to look like I'm having a conversation with myself here... Got a question for the moderators/admin - is there an option to 'activate' or allow use of the forum through Tapatalk (mobile app for forums, etc) just to make it a bit easier to use while away from a PC. Edit: woohoo! Page 47...

Re: The longest Thread ever!!!

Sound bad, hopefully your luck will turn for the better.

Being a citizen of the EU, I would think there would be some cheap options for you if your willing to move.

What do you do for a living if you don't mind me asking ??

Re: Daewoo/Opel drift car?

Honestly, there would be a huge amount of work in trying to turn the engine and run the power out the back end due to the torsion bar suspension design on the rear end. Quite frankly, if your going to redesign the suspension you would be better off installing the engine mid vehicle and using your st...

Re: The longest Thread ever!!!

Basically they just take delivery of parts from companies and other people for me, so I buy the stuff and arrange to have it shipped to their place. In some cases people don't want to take payment from Canada and ship to UK address, so I send him money on PAYPAL and he uses that to buy the parts. I ...

Re: The longest Thread ever!!!

I have a couple of guys on migweb, but they have grown greedy, last time the guy I was dealing with added about 500 GBP on a 750 GBP order of new and used parts. I'm fine with making money, but 500 was too much, as I arranged nearly everything and he spent less than 3 hours total over a period of ab...

Re: The longest Thread ever!!!

Vaux parts from the UK, cheap? where? :D Even the likes of lowering springs for the Lanos are not easy to come by any more... and if you find a supplier that does provide them you have to wait 6 weeks from factory as no where stocks it any more. Why wouldn't you just buy the APEX springs for the As...

Re: The longest Thread ever!!!

I'd have to think about it... what kinda parts are you after? Smaller items would obviously be less of a problem (especially considering the extortionate cost of postage over here). Doesn't sound like your particularly interested, I don't want to bother you if your not interested in making a few bu...

I guess I should ask which Gearbox you are using right now, I can't remember if you still have the F28 or if you ended up going a different route.

Re: Turbo Optra - Now on tuned Haltech @ 225whp

I should try and look back as to the clutch company he was using, I chatted with him quite some time ago about a USA supplier selling "Z20LET" clutch systems in to the UK market, I'm thinking that was his source. As for dropping off the face of the earth, I know of a few other forums where he was ac...

Re: The longest Thread ever!!!

There are a few other forums that seem to have a ripe following, i.e.: daewooclub.co.uk and lanosclub.com Speaking of UK, would you have any interest in sending Vauxhall parts over here? I use to bring them in through another fellow on Migweb, but he has become greedy and wants too much money for s...

Re: I would really like to know...

The Lanos and Astra MK2 share the identical suspension, so it's pretty easy to find lowering springs and other suspension parts. Given your from the UK I have to assume you have seen your fair share of dropped Vauxhalls. My old car ( GsiTurbo ) was low enough that I damaged the gearbox pan, so I act...

@ Chris: I know you mentioned somewhere you selling your business? That will be a big change... hopefully you will indeed have more time to work on all your projects. It's too bad about those calibra transfer cases ... would be nice if they could handle more. It's a good thing and a bad thing ( bot...

Re: Turbo Optra - Now on tuned Haltech @ 225whp

Interesting comparison between the three graphs. Chris was the u20 head built and ported when you ran it on the dyno? Just wondering if the 5500rpm drop is with the porting and valves or not. The engine is a T20SED ( basically the same as U20SED ) and the head was race prepped with stock cams, in o...

Re: Saturn Astra 1.8 in my Sport Lanos

If I remember correctly the 1.8L engine is a totally different family of engine, so it may not line up with mounts or gearbox.

For some reason I'm thinking the intake and exhaust are flipped around, but I could be wrong, it's been quite a while since I looked at the Astra 1.8 engine.
