Re: 1.6l e-tech engine ticking noise

It might be a loose valve, or it could just need fresh oil change. you can use a long flat screwdriver and touch the metal end to the valve cover and the handle to your ear over each cylinder and you can listen for any difference in valve sound.

best of luck.

Re: Newbie in a bit of trouble....

It seems what your saying that that It might be a coolant sensor if theory of operation is right if the engine always thinks it's in warm-up it will always spray extra fuel as precisionboost said. and then when the rev's get high enough there is enough air to mix with the excess fuel and combusted c...

Re: Newbie in a bit of trouble....

All modern vehicles have an EGR systems it allows for a higher C/R to gain more power out a smaller displacement. Ummm.... You could use a multimeter to check the map sensor and throttle sensor as well. You can check them by having the car on but not running and checking the voltage output of the se...

Re: Engine Swap Idea

The 2.0L is not paired with nubira in korea only come with A15SMS or A15DMS. It's not the car i would export either but i would want a water-powered turbo H23A1 1992-1996 Honda Prelude Si with 4 wheel steering we all have dreams. I am looking at this from the $ standpoint the engine and swap will be...

Re: Engine Swap Idea

It kinda is rare in my area of the US. The reason I am willing to ship is because I a military member so that is not something I would pay for. So the C20SED has a coil pack that's great news, but what ECU Would i need and would I need a Wiring harness because at least i know the c20/t/20/x20 have a...

Re: Optra Stalling

A few questions? Do you get any Check Engine light codes? Have you checked the basics spark plug/wires? Check EGR Valve and gasket and wiring? Check your o2 sensor? last thing i can think of is fuel pressure regulator? It sounds like there is a misfire due too too much fuel/too much EGR flow/not eno...

Re: Newbie in a bit of trouble....

Does it bog down when you hold the accel down steady? i have that problem with nubira it would start and idle fine but when running at constant would loose power because the EGR gasket was messed up. Try disconnecting the egr wires or vacuum line to see if your problem still stays.

Engine Swap Idea

First off i own a '99 Nubira with a A15SMS Motor in it, I have had the car for about a year and i am really trying to take from Korea to U.S. with me. Re: strangest problem ever. (moving posts.)

I think I might have found the real cause of this problem. Today I drove about 25km in the morning to work at a different location with the EGR valve disconnected there was slight knock as to be expected. But in the afternoon on the way back I reconnected the egr valve I noticed that there was smoke...

Re: strangest problem ever. (moving posts.)

I have reconnected the EGR Hose and the knock went away but the original problem returned. So. I don't know what to do run with the EGR and knock lightly all the time or run with it and run super rich and mess up all my spark plugs, I don't have a vacuum gauge or pump to which test it with.

Car has been champ since i got it, just small things here and there. Always lost almost all it's power on steep hills. So I got the bas...
