Re: Starting problem

Untitled.jpg if you need to get under the A/c, you don't have to disconnect the hoses, just pull the belt and loosen the mounting bolts that should give you enough room Thanks... would seem I will have to... Looks like the mounting brackets of the AC are hiding the CPS mount location. I spent anoth...

Re: Starting problem

if you use a good torch you should be able to see it thought it was... I can trace the wire where it goes in and under the AC mount... But when I go to look or even feel for it up in there... I can't seem to find where it attaches... geez... for all that i know... it could just be loose at it's mou...

Re: Starting problem

Your issue is related to your CPS code. The CPS provides the computer with the position of each piston in its cylinder, and the computer uses this information to fire the spark plugs accordingly. No signal = no command from the computer to the ignition module to pulse the coils, aka no ignition. Cu...

Re: Starting problem

Does the car always struggle to start, or just with a cold start? Once the car has started... it runs great... and seems to start easier after it's initial starting. After it starts... if I turn it off... it definitely starts much better immediately after shutdown. Tho' I still need use my special ...

Re: Starting problem

the reason rocker covers on the 2.0l are so prone to leaking is because people love to over-tighten them. they are listed at 8nm IIRC (5lb-ft) also, there are o rings under each bolt that almost never get replaced and you're only meant to put sealant at the half moons I don't "love to" but I must b...

Re: Starting problem

The fuel pump primes for a sec or two when ignition is switched on. That is normal. The gurgling sound could be from the fuel return into the tank that your hearing. I dont think your car would show check engine light if it's fuel ralated, because it does not measure fuel pressure nor afr. Not sure...

Starting problem

Tho' once started... it runs fine. no hesitation or misfires Got about 120,000 miles on the odo I do have a code that keeps popping ...

Re: WISPY SMOKE FROM UNDER THE HOOD

the upper radiator plastic inlet on muh 2.0 had disintegrated internally... didn't know at first when looking at that. but I had issue with the coolant leaking on the exhaust and creating some steam and bad smell. finally figured it out as I was pulling things apart. the upper inlet completely crumb...

Re: Bent valves, all of them... 1999 Nubira CDX 2.0L

I'm no mechanic... but setting the timing on a motor is not much different then any other. at least procedural wise. yer mechanic pal obviously didn't align the crank and cams properly before firing the motor. as someone stated above... it's just good practice to turn the motor over by hand first......

Re: Timing belt stretched ?

So, does anyone know what his actual problem was? . muh issue turned out to be a faulty idler. (chinese crap) replaced that... and all was good. I pulled the head and everything, thinking is was a bent valve again. but guess that's what I get for over thinking it... again I wouldn't suspect a bent ...

'01 Nubira 2.0, crank shaft position sensor location ?

so I see where the lead goes in, under the AC compressor mount... but cannot see where the CSPS is mounted. I've looked for it from under, above, etc. But cannot seem to locate it. I know it's somewhere under the AC compressor but cannot see it visually. What do I need remove to get to the CSP senso...

Re: 01 Nubira Front Suspension

I have noticed that the car wanders from side to side driving in a straight line and was wondering if it is the typical control arm issues I have been reading about? The control arm bushings could be fully or only partially at fault as there are other things that could be suspect... does it wander ...

Re: Looking for new front struts

I've looked at ebay and googled stuff. But it seems there are different part numbers for the fronts and rears.. and it gets more confusing. Don't have rust issues in SoCal... tho' the links are probably shot anyways. Did you find some specific part numbers that help decipher what struts are the corr...
